Get the Most Out of Your Tax Refund

By Kristy Hernandez

Every year starting around June, I start to hear clients tell me how they wish they had not wasted their tax refund trying to pay down their credit card debt.  Most of these clients thought that they were doing the right thing at the time — they finally had a big chunk of money and they wanted to make a dent in their debt.  The problem is that for the average American, the tax refund is not enough to solve their entire debt problem. Invariably, the same people that dole out their tax refund to the credit card companies end up for filing bankruptcy later in the year becuase the debt problem is still haunting them. Those people would have been better off saving that money and just filing bankruptcy from the beginning.

Consider getting more out of your tax refund than the band-aid fix of partial payment.  Clients can use that tax refund to settle all of their debt, or use it to pay their attorney fees to get out of all their debt in a bankruptcy case.  Our office has an excellent track record of successful bankruptcy cases and settling debt for far less than the balance owed. When you come in for a free consultation, our attorneys will explain whether we can help you take that same amount of refund and get you out of ALL your debt. Don’t waste your tax refund on a solution that doesn’t really fix all of your debt issues.
