How Long Can an Item Stay on Your Credit Report?

By Kristy Hernandez

Statute of Limitation for most items is 7 years.

Bankruptcy 7-10 years

Judgments are 10 years

Tax Liens stay on your credit for 7 years after they have been paid.

Just because you are approaching the 7 year mark, it does not mean that a creditor will remember to remove the item.  You need to be proactive and notify the Bureaus. Our office currently offers assistance for credit repair to get inappropriate credit reporting removed from your credit. For a free consultation on our credit repair services, please call one of our office locations.
