Wells Fargo Finally Does the Right Thing
By Monica Spangler, Newark Office
I have been working with my clients on a loan modification with Wells Fargo for over a year now. They are both in their 70′s and have lived in their home for over 30 years. They have raised their kids in this home and love it dearly. Wells Fargo has declined the modification repeatedly. Since we believed that the clients did qualify for the modification, we kept re-submitting the loan mod request to Wells Fargo. It has been an uphill battle and the clients had to file an emergency bankruptcy twice to stop the forclosure. All I could think of is how I would feel if these were my parents, so I kept fighting with everything I had. The persistence finally paid off. Yesterday I got the phone call from Wells Fargo saying that they loan modification was approved under the government’s Making Home Affordable modification program! Today I found out that the trustee sale has been cancelled. Now these dear people can finally live in peace!
